Marc Jacobs in Time Magazine World's Most Influential People

Marc Jacobs was named as one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time Magazine. When I checked the Time Magazine's website, I was surprised by the story written by Victoria Beckham for her friend, Marc Jacobs. Victoria praised Marc Jacobs for the changes he had made with each of his collection. Marc Jacobs must be very proud because he is the only fashion designed that was included in the list.

Meanwhile, some artists and entertainers like Lady Gaga, Robert Pattinson, Sandra Bullock and Glee‘s Lea Michele were also featured on Time‘s list.

Shiny red coat

Beim vorletzten Post hab ich mich noch beschwert, dass die Leute bei dem tollen Wetter noch im Mantel rumlaufen und jetzt habe ich selbst meinen roten Mantel nochmal raus gekramt, bevor sich das Wetter endgültig für die Sonne entscheidet und ich ihn erst mal nicht tragen kann. Der Mantel war ein wirklich gutes Schnäppchen. Und am tollsten finde ich das schwarz-weiß gemusterte Innenfutter. Leider habe ich es nicht fotografiert. Aber das werde ich irgendwann bestimmt mal nachholen. Wo ich gerade dabei bin, kann ich auch schon ankündigen, dass ich demnächst mal meine Fotos aus meinem London Urlaub im September 2009 posten werde. Muss mich nur noch die die Masse an Fotos wühlen ;) London ist einfach eine super tolle Stadt. Ich hoffe ich komme bald dazu sie mal wieder zu besuchen. Bis dahin trag ich einfach immer das Shirt, wenn Fernweh aufkommt.

ENG: In the post before last I complained about people, who still wear their coats, though the weather is so nice and now I dug out my red coat myself, to wear it once again, before the weather decides to become sunny all the time, so I can't wear it for now. The coat was a good bargain. I like the black-white patterned inner lining the most about it. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of it, but I will do it sometime. I want to announce that I will post my photos from London (September 2009) soon. I just have to see through all the mass ;) London is really amazing. I hope to get soon a chance to visit it again in the near future. Till then I just wear the shirt, when the wanderlust catches me again.

Colorful Sailor

Der Marine-Look mal mit mehr Farbe als üblich. Es müssen nicht immer nur zweifarbige Streifen sein und blaue Blazer sein. Mit bunten Streifen ist Sonia Rykiel schon seit Jahren erfolgreich im Modegeschäft mit dabei. Wie man also sieht klappt es mit mehr Farbe auch ganz gut. 
Mir gefällt dazu das Haarband sehr gut. Es sieht aus wie ein Tau mit Seemannsknoten. Ich habe sogar ein Lächeln zu stande gebracht, während ich fotgrafiert wurde :D

ENG: The maritime look with more colors then usual. It must not always be the two-colored stripes and blue blazers. Sonia Rykiel is successful with colorful stripes for years now in fashion industry. As you can see the maritime look with more color works really good.
I love the headband, which looks like a rope with a sailor knot. I even manged to smile while taking being photographed :D

Star blogger Q&A- Stylestalker

I caught up with Rachel, half of the design duo 'Stylestalker' which she works on with her friend Sue-Ann to ask her 10 quick fashion and design related questions.

1. How did you both meet?

We met at uni, Susie was the best dressed girl in the course, so
naturally I sat next to her. We spent a lot more time skipping off to
the library to read Vogue Italia, than we did doing our assignments.

2. What inspired you on your latest collection "Midnight?"

Midnight was inspired by bringing the past and the future together. We
borrowed inspiration from the ‘supers’ era of the 90’s with it’s
strong shoulder silhouette, as well as the modern gothic revival and
combined it with the futuristic movement characterized by strong
angular shapes and delicate metallics.

3. Out of all your designs which one is your favourite?

The conspiracy dress is my all time favourite. (pictured above)

4. How do you usually come up with ideas together for designs?

First we search high and low for inspiration. We scour runway,
magazines, blogs, vintage stores, movies, museums… stalk down old
grannies on the street if they have an amazing hat…anything really.
We mash up all the information and spew out ideas, which we bounce off
each other. We both have to love every piece that makes it into the
collection.

5. What was the last thing you bought?

Topshop suede wedges (I'm in London right now so I can go straight to
the source woohoo!)

6. What is your favourite item in your wardrobe?

Aside from stylestalker- a vintage Jean Paul Gaultier laser cut trench
coat that I picked up on a recent trip to Hong Kong for only $50!

7. Who are your style icons?

Carey Mulligan, Georgia Jagger, Jen Brill, Lady Gaga

8. What are your latest favourite trends?

I love all trends. Sue-Ann and I will try anything

9. Who are your favourite designers?

Alaia, Pucci, Julian McDonald.

10. How many pairs of shoes do you own?

Too many to count!

It's a scandal

Das Wetter ist einfach nur zu schön! Ich habe mir beim sonnen auf meinem Balkon sogar schon einen kleinen Sonnenbrand auf dem Dekollete geholt. Vor Freude über das tolle Wetter habe ich dann einfach mal auf Strumpfhose und Cardigan verzichtet und bin so in die City zum Eis essen gefahren. Wider erwarten gab es da aber gar nicht so viel nackte Haut zu sehen. Viele waren noch in Mantel und Schal gekleidet und haben mich dementsprechend ungläubig angestarrt. Außerdem habe ich auch noch festgestellt, dass meine COS-Schuhe nur mit Strumpfhosen tragbar sind, weil sie durch das Holz sehr schwer sind und beim gehen dann die Haut an der Ferse unangenehm unten ziehen. Habe zwei große Blasen bekommen -.- (deswegen auch mein genervter Gesichtsausdruck und das lustlose Posieren).

ENG: The weather is just beautiful. I even got a little sunburn on my decollete, when I was sitting on the balcony. Because of the joy about the weather I abandoned my tights and cardigan and drove to the city to have some ice. Against my expectations there was not much naked skin to see on the streets. Many people wore coats and scarves and looked at me stupidly in disbelief. Apart of that I noticed, that my COS-shoes are only to wear with tights, because otherwise the weight of the wooden platforms rubs your skin off of your heels. I have now two big blisters -.- (that's why I look so irritated and pose so spiritless).

The university Gossip girl

Ich habe vor kurzem mit einer Freundin angefangen Gossip Girl wieder von der ersten Staffel zu gucken. Ich liebe den  Style der Darsteller einfach und lass mich auch gerne mal von inspirieren. Besonders mag ich wie die Serena, Blair und Jenny die Schuluniformen abwandeln und immer ihren eigen Stil draus machen. 

Heute trage ich auch ein Schuluniform-inspiriertes Outfit und wie es sich für ein Gossip Girl gehört werde ich aus dem Nähkästchen plaudern und verrate euch, dass ich endlich für das Modedesign-Studium ein Platz ergattert habe. Freue mich schon drauf, wenn es in den nächsten Tagen losgeht.

ENG: I started watching Gossip Girl season one with a friend again. I love the style of the actors and draw my inspiration from them. I especially like how Serena, Blair and Jenny transform their school uniform into their own style.

Today I wear a school-uniform inspired Outfit and as becomes a Gossip Girl I betray you a secret, which is the fact, that I finally got a place at university for fashion-design. I'm so happy and excited, that it starts in the next days.

Oh Agyness what have you done?

I know that your fantastic peroxide blonde cropped 'do led to millions of wannabes copying you but that didnt mean that you had go and to shave it all off.

Henry why didnt you stop her from taking such drastic action?

Minimalism? Or just plain old boring?

A whole bunch of bloggers, fashion editors and street style photographers are going crazy for 'minimalism' at the moment.

And every time the word 'minimalism' is used I will bet you that it is followed by some remark about how amazing Celine is. That Phoebe Philo, who used to work at Chloe, and is now responsible for the french label is bringing basics back (with a ginormous price tag) and in particular is credited with that brown leather mini skirt from the Spring Summer 2010 collection.
White shirts, simple tees in neutral shades, nude work trousers and chunky shoes-blah blah blah I could go on- these are the Celine aesthetics in a nutshell.

But to me it all looks so darn boring.
Where is the colour? The prints and the florals? Its summer after all which means that it's time to experiment a bit more because you are not confined to knits and massive jumpers of winter.
I understand that she works in designing wardrobe staples, in particular for working women but do basics have to be so boring?
The brown leather skirt, made famous for being in the equally pared down and simple advertising campaign is nice and all, but nothing more than that.
For the amount of money that these plain clothes have you could buy something truly fabulous which could make you stand out from the crowd.
Why could you settle with the same old boring when you could have the brilliant and unique instead?

A.lcazar's B.urning D.iscoteque

A.lcazar is a Swedish eurodance group which has established themselves as one of Sweden's most successful music group. The group formed in 1998 with three members: Andreas Lundstedt, Tess Merkel and Annika Kjærgaard. Their first single, "S.hine O.n", was a hit in Sweden, but it was with their second release, "C.rying a.t t.he D.iscoteque" achieved huge success across Europe.
In December 2002, Andreas Lundstedt's boyfriend at the time, Magnus Carlsson, joined the group and released their 2nd album, "A.lcazarized", which became a big hit in Sweden.
But in the autumn of 2005, the band decided to take a break. In January 2008, their first and comeback single "W.e K.eep o.n R.ockin" was released from the album "D.isco D.efenders" which was released in March 2009. Their latest song "H.eadlines" was actually an entry in Melodifestivalen 2010 for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010. The song made its debut on Swedish Singles Charts at number 24 on March 5, 2010. The next week, the song managed to climb at number 10, giving A.lcazar another Top 10 hit in Sweden.

Mad Men

I love Mad Men.
Set in 1960s New York, the television drama series follows Don Draper, the "biggest ad man in the business" and the ultimate anti-hero as he works in a competitive advertising agency on Madison Avenue.
It is superbly directed and every single frame is in itself a stunning photograph.
A snapshot from another era which I wish I could visit.
The brilliant series 3 is over, so I am pining after the next...

Joan Holloway (above- played by Christina Hendricks) is my absolute favourite character. She has killer lines and costumes. But it's also the fact that she hit her husband over the head with a vase of flowers when he was being rude. You don't get cooler than that.
