Taare Zameen Par Movie Preview

Yes! It’s official now. Aamir Khan is out with his latest directorial debut called “Taare Zameen Par“… The film was initially given in the hands of Amol Gupte but it was heard that Aamir Khan took over it.

The film is set to be released on December 21st, 2007 and there are a lot of expectations as far as Aamir Khan is concerned. The last film Rang De Basanti was a huge hit and this film belongs to the same eye-opening genre according to the promos.

The story revolves around four main characters of the film, out of which the most important character is that of a kid who is dyslecix. This character is beautifully portrayed by Darsheel Safari. Aamir happens to be his teacher in the film and the audiences expect the same brilliance in his performance as always. This film also happens to be a huge break for a television actress Tisca Chopra. She plays the mother of this dyslecix boy and was previously seen in very popular television soaps such as Astitva-Ek prem kahani and Sarrkar.

The music for the film is composed by the magical trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and lastly Aamir dedicates this film to all the children with the message that everyone is unique and special in their own way…

Probably one of the most awaited films this Christmas; Keep visiting this space for more on Taare Zameen Par…

Dus Kahaniyaan Movie Preview

The ten stories in the movie have been provided by the following writers: Gulzar, Javed Akhtar, Kamlesh Pandey andVishal Bharadwaj, so it is evident that you can expect some truly great short stories, by such maverick writers. And when it comes to direction, we have some of the best names yet again: Apoorva Lakhia, Sanjay Gupta, Jasmeet Dhodi, Meghna Gulzar, Sudhir Mishra, Shyam Benegal and Hansal Mehta.

Some of the stories are as follows: There is a highway which not just symbolizes the friendship of two characters, but also provides unpredictable twists and turns, which would affect the characters’ lives as well. Five friends start telling a tale which would end up involving these friends themselves. Friendship is tested and betrayal unleashes it’s ugly head in a story of a Don and his best friend. And a writer goes mad after he discovers something horrible about the woman he loves.

The cast of the movie comprises the following stars and the respective stories:
  • Highway (Jimmy Shergill,Neha Dhupia)
  • Accident (Anupam Kher)
  • Rice Plate (Shabana Azmi,Naseeruddin Shah)
  • Lovedale (Soha Ali Khan)
  • Zahir (Aftab Shivdasani)
  • Sex on the Beach (Dino Morea)
  • Gupshup (Esha Deol)
  • Gubbare (Nana Patekar,Natassha,Sameer Dattani)
  • Matrimony (Arbaaz Khan,Mandira Bedi,Sudhanshu Pandey)
  • Zenzi (Vivek Oberoi,Tanushree Dutta)
  • Rise & Fall(Sanjay Dutt,Arjun Rampal)
Dus Kahaniyaan tries to touch every aspect of myriad lives, involving friends, enemies, strangers, lovers etc. And this is what the film’s USP is: touching virtually a large number of emotions and telling the tales which could be as real as anything, White Feather Films couldn’t have got it any better. And as far as some of the stars in it, who are deperately seeking that one elusive hit, it might just prove one for them. so be ready to listen the cliche’ line “Even though my role was small, it was highly acclaimed”. Because when it comes to unbankable stars at the hands of bankable directors, this is one line you are sure to hear.

Aaja Nachle Movie Preview

This November is all set to see the best releases of the year. With Madhuri Dixit making a comeback, am sure all the Madhuri fans will be awaiting this movie. Its called “Aaja Nachle“, produced under the Yash Chopra banner.

After a nerve whacking performance for Devdas in 2005, Madhuri was not seen in the tinsel town for quite sometime now and then she decided on this film, though she had a lot of offers from almost all the directors of Bollywood.

Aaja Nachle (Aaja Nachley) is a story about a theatre actress, played by Madhuri herself who vows to better the society through her dance acts. She travels to distant towns for her dance shows and conveys happiness through her dancing moves.

The film is in the safe hands of Anil Mehta, who is the cinematographer of the film along with being a director. In addition to Madhuri, Kunal Kapoor, Konkana Sen Sharma and Divya Dutta play important characters.

Madhuri looks stunning on the sets of the film after losing loads of weight and is often seen giving weight loss and fitness tips to co-actor Divya Dutta. She flew all the way from Denver, US or the shooting of this film in January 2007.

Laaga Chunari Mein Daag : Preview

It's been a mix bag for Yash Raj this year with a blooper like Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, an average grosser Ta Ra Rum Pum and a hit with Chak De! India. And they must probably be looking at making it better with Pradeep Sarkar's Laaga Chunari Mein Daag. Sarkar who had earlier directed Parineeta is back with another film which has a woman as the protagonist. It's the transition of a woman from her fun filled days, when she is an innocent happy-go-lucky girl to some one who gets toughened by life. The story is about to a woman Badki (Rani Mukerji) and her family. Badki decides to move to Mumbai to earn a living as her family has been going through some rough patches. They have however tried to keep her younger sister Chutki (Konkona Sen) away from all pressures and complete her education. In Mumbai, Badki morphs into Natasha and leads a secret life, marred with compromises. When Chutki decides to come to Mumbai, things take a dramatic turn for both the sisters. Badki tries to hide Natasha from Chutki, but things take a twist. Somewhere down the line, Chutki finds success and love. Badki too finds her love but chooses to walk away from it as she believes that the Natasha in her won't ever be accepted. The climax comes when the two sisters confront each other with the truth about Natasha out in the open. The story as a whole is as predictable as most Yash Raj films have been. But again, it has the grandeur and style that Yash Raj movies are always packaged with. Pradeep Sarkar is expected to weave the story in as much style as he did with Parineeta, and undoubtedly expectations are quite high. The film stars Yash Raj regulars Jaya Bachchan, Anupam Kher and Rani Mukerji. What is interesting is that they are also experimenting with other artistes outside the YRF camp. Though it is not really a Yash Raj trait, it seems to be doing the promos a lot of good. The film also stars Kunal Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma who have never been seen in any other Yash Raj production. Konkona will also be seen in forthcoming Yash Raj flick Aaja Nachle alongside Madhuri Dixit. After Devdas, Aaja Nachle will be her comeback film. Kunal Kapoor plays Vivaan, a youth who falls for Chutki. He is brash, rude and urban. Abhishek Bachchan plays Rohan, a renowned lawyer, who is bowled over by Badki's charm. A multi-starer and huge budget movie, is set to release in early October around time to capture the audience in the Eid season.

It is the story of a shy dreamer, Raj (22 years old), who spent most of his time isolated in his apartment, creating riddles and finding answers to them, jabbering poetry or arguing with his foolish landlady Miss Disa, with whom he shared a love/hate relationship. Raj was loved by one and all, for he always brought happiness to the people around him.

Destiny plans a magical tale for Raj over the next four nights of his life that shall change his entire being

“Saawariya” is the story of a couple’s chance encounter and the advance of their parallel obsessions over four successive nights. An impromptu romance is initiated in a remote town in the serene beauty of picturesque Simla, a quaint hill station in Northern India that was once the summer capital of India under the British Raj, known for its lakes, mist, heavenly snowfall, rains and the tall swaying pine trees.

The bright, fun-filled winding streets of the mall come alive with singing clubs, rustic folklore, dancing, love ballads, flourishing colonies of artists and weavers, and chants from the monastery- all woven in perfect harmony into a magical dream.
