Saawariyan Movie Review

The Concept : The movie is based on a short story White Nights, "White Nights" is a Russian short story by Fyodor Dostoevsky, originally published in 1848, early in the writer's career. It was adapted to films by Italian director Luchino Visconti, by French director Robert Bresson (as Four Nights of a Dreamer) and now Sanjay Lila Bhansali.
The story is about a vagabond who in some fairy tale sort of city who fell in love with a girl but the girl is waiting for her faraway lover who will return soon. But this vagabond happen to be so madly in love with the girl and he tries to convince her that he is the right person for her life. Meanwhile there are other people in the scene like a prostitute falling in love with this vagabond and so on. And all this happens in four nights.

The Movie : A much awaited movie by Sanjay Lila Bhansali, he has given us movie like "Black" so no doubt he is a talented director. Raj (Ranbir Kapoor) is charming, innocence guy who has no family, no history but he tries to overcome his loneliness by giving joy and happiness to others he meet. No doubt, a prostitute Gulabji (Rani Mukharji) fell in love with Raj. But he, the charming guy makes everyone happy by making them realize that God shall take away all their sorrow soon.
He then happen to get befriended with Sakina (Sonam Kapoor) and fell in love with to a level of craziness but sadly he came to know that she only see him as a friend and is actually waiting for her faraway love Imaan (Salmaan Khan). Then the persue began to make her realize that he (Raj) is the right person , right love for her.

Conclusion : The movie as I expected before release, is based on no real world where everything seems like imaginative. Seems that it is another test ground for Sanjay Lila Bhansali. Movie is surely hyped, so do the Characters ie. Sonam and Rajbir. Sanjay Lila Bhansali has his own Fan base, there are people who goes to theaters just for the reason that it is by Sanjay. But they will surely get disappointed at times. Movie has so many songs which will bug you every 7-10 minute. Personally, I feel that songs mostly blocks the flow of movie and here where there is very unusual flow you see songs so often that flow is messed of .. isn't logical ?

But, if you find all this experiments from Bhansali with big budget as artistic effect then surely you will have loads of things to stick to movie in order to discover the details of the sets and try to go deep into the Bhansali's mind that what he is really upto.

Ranbir, on the side of acting has stand up to the mark and so do Sonam do not look new to acting. Surely it is their family work. But sadly, Sonam has no good part as per writings for her so she was not really brought up in the front.

I feel there will be two stream of people who will either like or dislike movie, if you are going to look movie from the sense of logic and reality, there is no movie actually and you will find your sensing bursting that what really is going on ? But if you have made up your mind that you are going to watch a fairy tale then surely there is lots of fun for you with hue background, so much of artistic stuff and ofcourse that small bridge.
