Best mermaid duo ever ♥

Xanthe (left) and me (right) :D

Ok so we kind of looked like mermaids right?
Unfortunately evolution hasn't let us physically sprout a fish tail (yet...) so I think the maxi dresses did a good enough job of getting the idea across for me and the fabulous Xanthe May, oui?

I ended up going way over budget for my maxi dress because I tried so many on in so many shops but then as soon as I walked into Topshop I saw this one and BAM it had to be mine.
Also at the 'Under The Sea' themed birthday bash I spied a Loch Ness Monster (cleverly wearing red tartan and green face paint) a giant yellow submarine, a pearl, a drop of water, a wave, surfers, some Hawaiians and also some sailors and pirates.
What a night.
And then it's my leavers ball tomorrow marking the end of my compulsory education and officially kicking off my 10 week summer holdiay. Wahey.
I am even going to get my hair cut and my makeup done at MAC with my BFFL for it. I know, get me pulling out all the stops.
Hope all you lovely bloggers/blog readers are having lots of fun in the sunshine, I know its unusually sweltering in England at the moment.
So layer up the factor 30 and enjoy amigos!
Beth Ruby xoxo

ps) THANKYOU SO MUCH TO EACH OF MY 200 FOLLOWERS!
Finally reaching the big 200 has made my day! Love you guys!

Walk Walk Fashion Baby Work It 101st Post Crazy

Hope everyone had an amazing Christmas!
Apart from my daily revision sessions (I have got mock exams and a physics re-sit in January. Eek) it has just been a really nice and relaxed holiday at home with the family. Also I never saw it coming but we had a White Christmas!

Oh and I received possibly the best present of my life...
The Canon DSLR Camera which I have been drooling over for ages.

Me and that gorgeous Canon 1000D lens.

So expect a lot more photos taken by moi to appear on the blog and because I am really interested in photography I would love to hear your opinions, ideas, tips and advice. Just make sure you keep the criticism constructive though. Yes?

Hope you all have a fantastic New Year!

xoxo

Bonjour!

Oh it has been too long blogging friends!
Can't believe I have only just got around to doing a post about my wonderful time in Brittany in France. It was so fun and I have decided I am always going to remember it for:

1. The overly friendly Frenchmen who kiss you enthusiastically on both cheeks and then vigorously shake your hand.

2. Being with lovely people. Emma (on the left in the last photo) and her family are so nice; they made me feel so at home.

3. Wearing my Eiffel Tower necklace the whole time I was there.

4. The cute little houses with pastel coloured doors and the adorable painted signs on street walls.

5. Staying up late and playing endless games of cards. Haha our games of ‘Slam’ got quite vicious.

6. Easting cheese. Lots of cheese. Camembert and Caprice especially.

7. This amazing shop which sold the loveliest things. They packaged the candle I bought there so beautifully (see the bag below)

8. Finishing the most amazing book on the way back. ‘The Outcast’ by Sadie Jones kept me sane on the hideous 10 hour ferry journey back home. Seriously one of the best books I have read this year and also it is her debut novel which makes this even more impressive.

Kisses, Beth xx

I fly like paper, get high like planes

(Photo called "Autumn in Paris" from Garance Doré who I have a major girl crush on. She has to be my favourite French blogger, closely followed by Le Blog De Betty and The Cherry Blossom Girl of course)

Cannot wait for France tomorrow with my BFFL, I am now all packed and ready to go!
Lately I have been très stressed about exams/friends/school so it is very nice to have the chance to get away from it all.
Also Emma has an amazing Canon so hopefully I will be able to nick some good photos to share with you when I get back.
Au revoir mes amis etc etc hope you are having a fantastic week :)
xx
ps) I always seem to get 'Paper Planes' by MIA stuck in my head before I go on holiday...

"People say graffiti is ugly, irresponsible and childish...but that's only if it's done properly" -Banksy

Sorry I have only just got around to blogging about my trip to Bristol to see the Banksy exhibition...
It was brilliant and its not often that you go to a gallery and every single piece in the exhibit is at such a high standard. Seriously it was genius; witty, tongue in cheek pictures often with a political message behind it.
Needless to say it was extremely popular and some people ended up queuing for 7 hours to get in!!! Hehe we got lucky though because my friends Mum got up at like 6.30am to be at the front of the queue and save our places.
AND as a bonus, instead of being snooty and not letting you take photos like lots of other galleries I know (ahem...the BALTIC...) you could take as many photos as you liked so obviously I went snapper happy:
(Haha and excuse the very dorky photo of me above, I think I was just super excited!)
The reception of the museam was inside the icecream van! Haha it would be so fun to work in there...
Man 1: Who are all these people?
Man 2: Oh they're not people, hes just crap at drawing flowers

So many things have happened since my last post!
I will let you know about them in list form, because I am sad and I love lists:
1. The summer holidays have started! So I have 7 weeks of relaxation and not having to stress or even think about exams or revising of any kind.
2. I have a fringe! Yes after having the same old centre parting for literally years I took the plunge and got it cut. Love it.
3. I got a train to London by myself which is the first time I have ever travelled on my own anywhere! I had a great time staying with my lovely cousins. We went shopping in the Topshop on Oxford Street (we made sure we went to all 3 floors of its Topshop goodness!) and also went to the National Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery. Haha I went a bit crazy finding all the postcards of my favourite paintings.
Great start to my holidays!
In Topshop though I ended up just buying the above outfit. I tried loads of stuff on but none of it seemed quite right and I "didn't want to buy for the sake of buying" as my mother says so I just got the sunnies and dress/top thing. I did buy a killer pair of gladiator heels from New Look though. Chuffed.
I hope you are all having a fabulous summer relaxing in the sunshine!

Holiday Holiday Holiday

Sorry for my short absence I have been on a short family holiday to the Isle of Mull.
"Where the hell is Mull?" I hear you ask.
Well it is a remote Scottish Island where you can "drive for hours and not see a single soul."

Which I am sure lots of people might like the sound of, you know going on long walks and generally "getting away from it all" but it's not really my thing.

I still had a really good time though even if it is nice to be back home, catching up on Facebook and Britain's Got Talent...
